The Buccaneers have been sailing the high seas since ships first set sail from the shorelines. Though originally a rough and tumbled band of pirates united under a code of honor amongst thieves, the ranks of the Buccaneers has swelled to include many traders, explorers, and passenger ships. All members of the Buccaneers have sworn to obey and uphold the Buccaneer Code. The Code dictates rules of combat, promotions, challenging authority, pirating, and dispute solution options as well as other ship to ship, man to man relations. All ships that are not pirating vessels are required to tithe to the Buccaneers in return for amnesty and protection. Traders who tithe are assured that no ship of the Buccaneers will prey upon them, and they can expect assistance from any passing Buccaneer ship should they find themselves in peril.
