The Amarada

She might be a small cargo ship, but she's clearly built for speed and manuverability - a ship able to sail the high seas but also able to move along smaller inlets and waterways if need be. Sleek lines and a proud cutting prow mark this elegant ship, which is obviously well kept and tended to meticulously. She sports three masts, two main and one half to provide her with more precise turning abilities and greater speed when the winds will allow for it. High above upon the center mast she sports the flag of an independent ship, each such vessel having their own crest or symbol. The flag of the Amarada is a red heart framed by white wings on either side. To show her affiliation with the Buccaneers, she flies upon a field of black. What marks her most to the layman's eye is the unusual figure upon her bow. Unlike the common maiden or mermaid, the Amarada bears upon her breast an Empyrean woman, her white wings unfurled and extending back along each side of the bow. Her face is a vision of beauty, exquisitely careved with long blonde tresses streaming back from her features as if blown by the sea winds. She smiles, serene and confident ... and there is something about her that is strangely familiar to certain eyes that rest upon her visage.

The Amarada is kept tidy and clean, her rails and deck well tended and oiled, her sails trim and whole. There seem to be a plethora of additional lines trailing down from her masts, obstensibly to facilitate movement about the ship during storms and rough seas. There is a winch and a pair of doors built into the deck to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo.

Captain - Simply known as Captain Demetrius (NPC played by Sebastian), this Empyrean has owned the Amarada for 35 plus years. Known for his daring and fascination for the unknown, Demetrius has taken the Amarada and her crew to lands never seen before to most of those in Haven, Parnassus and other civilized territories - some even unknown to other captains and sailors. While a member of the Buccaneers, this Empyrean is faced with both approval and scorn from his peers. Too much of a gentleman to be a pirate, too much a rogue to be a merchant, Demetrius walks a fine line between the legal and illegal natures of the Buccaneer membership and as such is often not trusted by either side. He has made over the years many friends but just as many enemies.

First Officer - Mister Burke (NPC played by Sebastian) has been on the Amarada nearly as long as her Captain. The two men are as different as night and day, for as serious and sober as Demetrius can be, Burke is bright and jovial, his nature as florid and boisterous as his turquoise eyes and coppery red hair. He is both compatriot and commander to the crew of the Amarada, as ready to bend his arm to drink with you as to dress you down for shirking your duties. Respected, admired, and occasionally feared, Mister Burke keeps the crew not only happy, but whole.

Second Officer - Sebastian Xaverius is the son the Captain Demetrius and will some day be the captain of the Amarada. Taught and trained by his father he is an excellent sailor, a fine commanding figure, a skilled swordsman, a fair trader, and a clever tactician. But Sebastian brings something new to the Amarada that has put this exploring ship beyond the success of most others. No one seems to know what that is for sure, but since the young lad grew into a man the ship has Tyche's own blessing, her sails filling with wind even when there's none to be found, her prow cutting through the water faster and bolder than other ships of her kind. They say that under Sebastian's command the Amarada may become even more famous and well-known than it already is.

Le Coeur Noir

Note - This is an Aether I ship, NPC'd at this point, but it would be lovely to have a new captain for her and bring her back to life. Please apply if interested.

Captain- Lafitte' Roberts (now deceased). A name like any other, but not a man like any other. Also known as Lafitte' the 'Liberator', a title bestowed on this well-known slave trader in a moment of sardonic wit. The only thing that Lafitte' has ever liberated are savages from their tribes, brought across the seas and sold upon the docks of Haven, and of course the money from the fat purses of nobles and the elite for his prizes of flesh. When he is at sea, however, he is known by a different name .... Captain Roberts, a dangerous and ruthless pirate. Though many a sunken ship has been attributed to his name, there are never any survivors or evidence to accuse the man, let alone convict him. Though he looks a pompous fool, thin elegant aristocratic lines that hint of Empyrean heritage and a tendency toward foppish and elaborate dress, he is in truth a shrewd man not generally crossed. It is said that his skill with a blade is sharper even than his glib golden tongue. Alas Lafitte's pride and scorn were his downfall, and a witnessed and repelled attack upon the Amarada had him executed by the Tribunal

Second Officer- It is known among sea-folk familiar with the man that Captain Demetrius once counted Marco Carivelle as an officer aboard the Amarada...Marco was practically raised on the ship, having sailed aboard since he was a boy. No one knows for certain why, but it is with utter hatred that the name of the Empyrean captain is spoken by Marco now...Since leaving (Most say 'being thrown off') the Amarada, Carivelle has been welcomed into the crew of the infamous Le Coeur Noir, and it's depraved captain. Whatever he may have been before, Marco quickly became a cruel man...the sort who would sail with cutthroats, pirates, and slavers. He is just another mongrel wharf-rat, grown up into a sailor-scum.

The Morgenster

Note - This is an AetherI ship - now NPC only

Captain- Rasamei bin Keahi is an enigma to both cultures which shaped her life, and not a woman whom one easily crosses. The daughter of one of the Houris of Ushas, trained from her youth to please men and be submissive to their every wish, and the captain of a vessel with a ruthless reputation even among the Buccaneers, she has been taught all her life about the tools one may use to execute power and control over those whom she needs and desires. She is the Captain of the 'Morgenster', a vessel as beautiful and deadly as it's name suggests. Her crew consists of men and women of various' backgrounds and it is whispered that she, like her father before her, has inspired a strange loyalty upon them. How is uncertain, but there are rumours that the touch of her hand can bring pain as well as pleasure and it is a fact that she is a success in her trade. Many consider her amoral, for her reputation is such that she can betray as quickly as befriend... as long as it will bring welfare and prosperity to her people.

Cook- Grubb, Mongrel.
