Must be doing something right

Date: Fri, 5 May 2006

There is a pair of robins nesting in the big old camellia in our backyard. They don't eat anything from our Bird Buffet but they like the yard and the birdbath. The safflower seed pulls in chickadees, house finches, juncos, and golden-crowned kinglets (but no English sparrows, starlings, or rodents, yay!); nuthatches, bushtits, Northern flickers, and the chickadees chow on the suet; hummingbirds visit the hummingbird feeders regularly, and we expect more as the females move in later. Bewick's wrens move through from time to time. The thistle feeder isn't getting much action so far but I hear that the pine siskins stayed in the mountains this spring, and goldfinches are hit or miss around here.

That's the news from Chez O-K. I'm pretty happy to be home.

Best,

-Sarah
